Eyelid surgery, also known as blepharoplasty, is used to eliminate excess skin that may be impeding vision, and tighten remaining skin for a fresh, more youthful look. Blepharoplasty can be performed on both the upper and lower eyelids. The surgery begins with an incision made along the natural crease of the eye. During the procedure, Dr. Rowen gently trims away excess skin, lifting and reattaching the remaining skin to create a smoother, tighter appearance. The surgery is performed on an outpatient basis, and Baltimore eyelid surgery patients can return to normal activities as soon as they feel comfortable.
