Blepharoplasty (Eyelid Surgery)
If you are concerned with loose skin above or below the eyes, overhanging eyelids, or puffy bags beneath the eyes, you may be a candidate for eyelid surgery at our practice. It is used to eliminate excess skin that may be impeding vision, and tighten remaining skin for a fresh, more youthful look. If drooping eyelids are giving you a tired, stern appearance, this may be the solution.
It can be performed on both the upper and lower eyelids. The surgery begins with an incision made along the natural crease of the eye. During the procedure, Dr. Rowen gently trims away excess skin, lifting and reattaching the remaining skin to create a smoother, tighter appearance. The surgery is performed on an outpatient basis, and patients can return to normal activities as soon as they feel comfortable.

Today, patients now have a fast and effective treatment for the lines and wrinkles which commonly develop near the forehead, brows, and eyes. Known as “expression lines,” these wrinkles are the result of years of muscle contraction from common facial expressions like squinting, frowning, and smiling. With a series of injections at one of our practices, we can soften or eliminate these deep wrinkles in just a matter of minutes.
Essentially, it works by reducing the muscle contractions which cause wrinkles. When injected directly into facial muscles, it blocks the nerve signals which cause those muscles to contract.
